'My parents searched for somewhere for me to do sport and found Leverkusen, the biggest city that supports sports for disabled in Germany. For years I had to travel a long way to play sport, but from September I am moving there to start a year of volunteering looking after other disabled youngsters with the aim of motivating them to do more activities and enjoy life.
I started with sport with Gymnastics, and then Swimming. Then when I was about 10, I met Joerg Firschmann and he told me about a new project for youth Sitting Volleyball. This was the first project for children in Germany on this sport and I am now so happy that I found it.
I am 18 and have playing our amazing sport for 8 years already! I like Sitting Volleyball as it is a team game, and on the other hand it is very dynamic… it is not a slow sport, or boring in anyway. Also, playing with and against people without a disability underlines the term of inclusion for me.'
