'I started playing sitting volleyball in 2003 after a chance encounter with the national team coach on a street!
He approached me and asked me if I was interested in playing sitting volleyball as I looked fit thanks to my regular gym sessions. I decided to go to training to give it a try and then I fell in love with the sport.
I play for a team which is part of the club “Association Sportive de Salé pour handicapés” (Salé Disabled Sport Association).
I usually train up to 4 times a week in a centre for disabled people which was opened by King Mohammed VI. The facilities are free of charge and we can train many times a week as a result.
One of my best memory in my playing career is when I took part in the Arab Games in Egypt and represented my country with the national team in 2007.
I have played in many competitions (2002 World Championships preliminary in Egypt, 2007 Club Championships in Syria, 2009 African Championship, 2010 World Championships in Oklahoma, 2011 African Championship to qualify for the Olympic Games in Egypt, 2012 Paralympic Games and 2014 World Championships in Elblag)
I feel there are not enough competitions to improve the level in Morocco and to have the experience of playing at a high level. There needs to be halls dedicated to volleyball with national championships and more teams...'
