Allie Aldrich (U.S.A. No. 11)

'I started sitting volleyball over 9 years ago. I was just 16 when I started. A local paper at home did an article on me for over coming cancer and still playing sports. Brent Rassmussen a retired USA men's sitting team player got me involved in sitting volleyball. I remember my first camp like it was yesterday. It was the first time in my sports career that I was judged on my ability and not my disability. That has impacted me to continue playing the game. Over the past 9 years I have 3 Paralympic medals and truly believe this is my passion. I love the game and what the Paralympics stand for! Besides few people get to represent their country and get to wear USA on their backs. That alone still gives me chills!!!!'
